Hanover Tavern to Host Artisans’ Fair as Part of Grand Re-Opening

Hanover Tavern Foundation invites the public to the first annual art fair to be held at the newly renovated Hanover Tavern in Hanover, VA, 15 miles north of Richmond. The fair will be held Saturday, June 25th from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. The fair will be held under a tent on the new terrace. Local artisans will be selling their work, including jewelry, photography, quilts, woodworking, paintings and other media. Admission to the fair is free and visitors to the fair will also have an opportunity to tour the Tavern for a small donation. Hanover Tavern is located in Hanover, Virginia at 13181 Hanover Courthouse Road.

Musicians from the Floating Folk Festival will perform at the art fair. Floating Folk is a cooperative formed by local singer/songwriters and acoustic musicians whose primary goal is to preserve acoustic music through live performances, compilation CD releases, and archiving and documenting concerts.

Hanover Tavern Foundation was founded in 1990 to save historic Hanover Tavern. Hanover Tavern is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. With renovations complete, the Tavern will once again be used as an historic education, community and cultural resource center.
